The representative Rugby match, Wanganui v. Hawke's Bay, was played here to-day, and resulted in a win for Hawke's Bay by 11 points (three tries, one of which was converted) to 3 (a penalty goal, kicked by Atkins).
Palmerston N., August 26. Manawatu were defeated by South
Auckland representatives by 24 to nil. Manawatu had a very weak team. In fact, the union had difficulty in getting a team on the field, as most of the representative team have enlisted for the war. The trygetters were Symes, Bolesk (2), Shaw, Morris, May, Lenard, and Flynn.
