German Outrages.
OFFICIAL TO EMISSION'S .REFJpBT FROM BELGIUM. •
'London, August. 24
The Press Bureau publishes Bel.urn's protest against German bar-d-ism, based on the report of a com-
ittee of enquiry, including Chief .istice Vaniseghem and judges and uversity professors. There were
[■'tails of scores of cases of murder >f civilians and wounded soldiers. The vidence of reliable eye-witnesses told lint old peasants at Linsmeau had :heir skulls broken with the butts of .•iflee. At Qrshitfel scvWal'»inhabitants were horribly mutilated. The Germans sliot a score of prominent -itizens at Aerschot, and burnt the town,- avenging the gallant defence jy the Belgian troops. The Press Bureau, commenting on the atrocities -n the villages, says it appears that the deliberate intention was the terrorising of the people and makingit unnecessary to leave troops to' protect the communications.
