The Now Zealand High Commissioner reports, London, 26th, 5.5 p.m.: Official: Tho Allies are waiting the German attack in their new positions. In tho last three days' battle tho enemy suffered tremondous losses. There is no news of the situation between Sedan and Nancy, The French aro again taking tho offensivo in Lorraine.
The French are evacuating Alsaco and concentrating elsewhere.
Tho French will reinforce tho British at Mons. The Russian advance has not been checked.
Austria has declared war against Japan.
Mr Asquith, in tho House of Commons, said it was not proposed to establish National service. The Germans' attack in force on tho southern frontier on Tuesday was repulsed all along the line.
