At the Science Congress to-day, Professor Atkinson, in discussing economic conditions, arising out of the war, condemned the rotrencnment policy, and advocated the Commonwealth Bank issuing ten millions in paper money to enable the necessary works to -be kept going. Th« national credit was so high that it would easilv stand this.
| The Commission to report on th» prices of necessary commodities, under the special Acts recently passed by Parliament, has been appointed, under the presidency of Judge Edmunds.
'' Gables dealing with the war are greatly delayed.
