Official:—The, destroyer "Kennet." when chasing the German destroyer i "S 90" on Saturday afternoon,, approached, too close to the battery at .Using-tao and tlpee were killed and , seven wounded., The.Kennet was , not materially .damaged, i ii' Tsing-Tao.—The. chief seat of government in the. German leased territory at Kiao-Chao Bay, China. The German territory is on both sides of the narrow entrance to the bay, which lias the form of a • harbor rather than a bay. Tsing-Tao is on the northern side. The German garrison in the territory consists of »92 officers, 2fJ74 men, and one • battalion of the Fast Asiatic Garrison Brigade. Tsing-Tao is used as a 1 fortified base for ■ the German 'Far Eastern naval squadron. •■• "' :
