ZEPPELINS v. DIRIGIBLES.
London, August 25
French reports state that Zeppelins proved unable to rise sufficiently to escape the French artillery. A French dirigible dynamited the railway station at Treves, notwithstanding a fusillade of bullets.
Treves.—The most ancient and one of the most celebrated cities in Germany. It is situated on the Moselle, 57 miles west of Coblentz, near the pastern boundary of the Duchy of Luxembourg. It' contains many handsome buildings and some Roman remains, including an amphitheatre, baths, a large quadrangle known as the Porta Nigra and part of the bridge over the Moselle. After the tenth century it becme the second German electorate. It was occupied by the French from 1580 to 1794 and was annexed to Prussia in 1814. Population about 50,000. GERMANS HAVE LOST FIVE ZEPPELINS. (Received 10 a.m.) Paris, August 12. Of the Zeppelins the Germans have been using, five have already been destroyed.
