To test the worthiness of his two heirs, a niece and a nephew, Stella Grigsby'and Dr. Hale Webster, an elderly millionaire has a false report spread that he is dead. The heirs are told that this money is left to them, provided they marry each other. At first all goes well, but complications arise when Dr. Webster takes Stella to a circus and there sees Kate, a charming bareback rider, who dashes through fiery hoops on a spirited charger. Dr. Webster persists in courting the girl he loves, and nnaiTy~iclls Stella he has decided to give up the legsey. She determined to make a ckspnr'ata effort to get the legacy, and c.--.spires with Pierre to "dope" Kate's f.rdieina that night so that when she r.;.i;cs it just before going into th<- ring she will be overcome during her performance. While leaping' through the fiery hoops, Kate is overcome by the "dope" and falls from her horse! Dr. Hale Webster nurses Kate b,*ek to health, and is made happy by jotting the charming girl for his "wife, and the blessing of his rich imelc who puts in his appearance to praise his • honest nephew and denounce bis falsi niece.
