Mr G. N. Barnes, Labor M.P. for Glasgow, speaking in London, said we had to participate in the war to maintain our international reputation and must punish Kaiserdom and all it meant. The democratic and selfgoverning peoples would and must form a league to keep peace on the basis of right-doing.

SUCCOURING THE NECESSITOUS AND DISTRESSED.

A telegram from Berlin states that the trustees of Oassels’ foundation for necessitous Englishmen have agreed to help all now in distress in Germany. The hope is expressed that English foundations will similarly succour distressed Germans.
