It is a season or two since Taranaki were matched against Southland on their own ground, and when the fate of tho Ranfurly Shield has to be deeded, there will be a big crowd at New Plymouth on Thursday to witness the match. That Taranaki is not invincible was proved last week, but it will certainly be a big surprise if the Southerners should come out on top. Train arrangements and excursion fares are advertised.
