Despatches from Nish report that after a four days' battle the Servians defeated the Austriatis, who qr-~:j6d the D ina near Loznitza. There were heavy losses on both sides, and many Austrians were taken prisoners.

Reports from Nich stato that the Loznitea battle lasted for four days, and that 25,000 Austrians were killed and wounded. Ten thousand prisoners were taken.
Trainloads of wounded are arriving at Vienna.

AUSTRIANS MASSACRED BY SERVIAN ARTILLERY. (Received 8.15 a.m.) St. Petersburg, August 28. Servians routed 110,000 Austrian* and pierced the Austrian centre using Napoleon's favourite tactics. The Austrians fought in the bend of the . river Drina with their backs to the j river and suffered enormous losses. The Servians forced the entire division into the valloy.
