ENGLISH PARTICIPATE IN BOMBARDMENT OF CATTARO.

An Exchange telegram from Ceftinge says that English warships participated in the bombardment of Cattaro.
INDESCRIBABLE PANIC AT TRIESTE.
DECISION TO SURRENDER.
(Received 8.5 a.m.) London, August 21
The Daily Mail’s Venice correspondent states that the news of the Ang-lo-French naval raid in the Adriatic produced indescribable panic at Trieste. A special train had been waiting for days to take away Prince Hohonlohe, who had arranged to hand over his power to the Mayor, and when the fleet appears the Mayor to surrender imemdiately in order to save the city and dockyards.
(Trieste, at the head of the Adriatic, is the principal seaport of Aus-tria-Hungary, is the centre of shipbuilding and commercial activity, and is known for its Cathedral, castle and Roman antiquities. The population (including the garrison) is 88,SCO).
