A RISE IN BEEF.
[Per Press Association.] Wellington, August 20
The Master Butchers' Association informed the wholesale butchers that they intend raising the price of beef to 31s per lOOlbs., which is equivalent to a 10 per cent, increase on Monday next. The advance will be 'landed on to the consumers. A meeting of master butchers, is to be held on Saturday night to urge the Government to prohibit the exportation of beef.
