FRENCH ADVANCE CONTINUES
SATISFACTORILY.

It is officially stated that the French yesterday advanced rapidly, and reached Morhange. Also that they ocmipy Chateau Salins and Dieuzc, but progress was slow in face of the strongly-held fortifications. The advance in Upper Alsac» continues.
ENGAGEMENT AT ST. BLAISO.
GERMANS LOSE FLAG, 8 HORSES, 537 PRISONERS.
AT THE BAYONET'S POINT.

Paris, August 20
A wounded officer gives details of the capture of the first German Hag at St. Blaiso. The engagement lasted from 5.30 o'clock in the morning till nine o'clock at night. The French artillery wrought havoc among the enemy'* horses, and the heavy German guns were then captured. The church steeple, from where the German machine guns were doing deadly work, was demolished by shells. The French finally carried the position with the bayonet, taking a flag, eight guns, ninety horses and 537 prisoners.
FRENCH RE-OCCUPY THE TOWN OL MULHAUSEN.
THE LATE GENERAL CRIERSON.
(Received 11.30 a.m.) Paris, August 20
It is officially reported that the French occupied Girebwiller and carried a suburb of Mulhausen at the point of the bayonet, capturing six guns and six wagons. They also reoccupied Mulhausen.
There was a great military funeral and public demonstrations at Boulogne upon the removal of General Grierson's body to England.
