The removal of the Court and Government to Antwerp is a heavy blow to Brussels, bu£ there has been no panic or rush out of the citizens, who continue dining quietly in the cafes and maintaining a calm and resoluteattitude. Absolute confidence' is reposed, in, the army. It is staged that Antwerp will be able to resist a big army for an indefinite period. THE GERMANS; CAPTURE TWO TOWNSi ,„Jfoussels, August 20. Latest messages state that a strong force of on Tuesday shelled and captured Diest and Tirlemont. The Telegraph's correspondent asserts that a tremendous buttle is in progress between Diest and Namur. Two divisions of French cavalry, bv forced marches, reached Faimure, ten miles north of Houvalize. Cavalry conflicts took place at Turnhont, twen-ty-five miles north-east from Antwerp. German patrols have been seen at Chel and Moll continuously.
The Germans have been in retreat before the Belgians between Gemblous and Jodoigne since Monday. The French, after junctioning with the Belgian right at Gembioux, forced the Germans to further retreat.
