AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB.
[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Sydney, August 19. At the animal meeting of the Australian Jockey Club the report showed revenue £165,066, and expenditure £178,718. Last season £87,120 wan distributed in prizes, and the added money for the current year is £BO,OOO, The club resolved to donate £IO,OOO for paetriotic purposes in any part oi the Empire. ' THE WANGANUI MEETING, [Per Fresh Association. | Wanganui, August 19. The committee of the Wanganui Jockey Club to-night reconsidered its decision to abandon the spring meeting, and decided to hold the meeting and to devote the whole of the profits to the War Fund. Nominations were fixed to close on August 31. The club’s previous decision was not influenced by financial considerations:, lint simply by the fact that jollifications seemed out of place in time of war.
