Sir, —Without making any comment on the letter published in your columns by the Hon. Sec. oj the Stratford Municipal Hand, I desire to state that a member of the Hand in the person of Mr Howler undertook to arrange for thfc Hand to play our men from the

Defence Office. No doubt Mr Howler informed' the whole of the Hand’s members of my wish, including the Hon. Secretary, and knowing my wish as Mayor, T claim tile Hand should have turned out even without a formal application' being made to the Hon. Secretary.— l - am, etc.,
