Before .the Meat Trust Commission., a representative of the Birt Com pa da gave evidence that he way sending shipments of meat to the Armour Company in America. Armour's had been buying cattle largely in Queensland for.years. They did not intend to erect works in Australia, but would buy. supplies from the existing meat works. He did not think Armour's purchases had tended to raise the prices; of cattle.
