Sentenced to Death.
MURDER IN LAWRENCE (N.S.W.) RESULT OF FEUD BETWEEN NEIGHBOURS. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Ileceived 9.45 a.m.) Sydney, August 14. Frederick Glover lias been sentenced to death for the murder of Lee. The Sydney Daily Telegraph of April 30th contained the following message from Ulmarra dated the 29th April:— A well-known resident of Lawrence, Mr Frederick Lee, was found dead early this morning. An examination of the body revealed the fact that Mr Lee had been shot through the heart, apparently with a rifle bullet. It is thought that the tragedy occurred about 3 o’clock this morning, screams having’ been heard from the direction of the deceased’s house about that hour, while a gunshot was also heard by neighbors. The motive of the tragedy is not quite clear, but it is believed to he the result of a feud between certain parties in the town. Frederick Glover, of Grafton, who was arrested on suspicion, appeared at au inquiry held during the afternoon, charged with the murder.
