The Premier has issued qu appeal to tanners to grow as much cereal produce as possible, and to do all in their power to provide against the world-wide shortage of breadstuff,s that is only too like! yto bo experienced. Mr Massey points out that the food supply may become the determining factor In the great struggle. Farmers who endeavour to help their country by providing tin’s class of produce may find in serving the Empire’s interests they have also served their own. THE UNEMPLOYMENT QUESTION Wellington. August 11. With a view to assisting persons thrown out of employment or who have lost their positions through the war, the Department, of Labor is inviting representatives in the chief centres of the Dominion to form employment committees. Persons who are thus situated and employers who have vacancies are requested to notify the nearest office of the Labour Department.
