FOODSTUFFS IN AMERICA.
HOLDING FOR A RISE. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] New York, August 11. Prices of foodstuffs are steadily rising throughout the United States. Farmers and stockmen are holding in the expectation of higher values. Congress will probably be asked to investigate the existence of combines. The Armour Company explain that the rising prices are partly due to the stability of the import of meat from Australia, while the American stocks at present are very low.
