RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.

The weather was fine, and most of the work was done on the sand. The gallops were of a good order, and in fast time. Chortle and Multiply did half-a-mile in Slsecs, and were not extended. Sam Pan heat Sveaborg by eight lengths over seven furlongs in 1-32 2-osecs. Gipsy Belle ran half-a-mile in 52 2-osecs. Salsburg covered five furlongs leisurely in 1-10 Haskayno beat Banian over five furlongs in 1-5. Ruatamaka beat Admiral Soult over a mile in 1-48.- Tann, hauser had a slight advantage over Thrax at the end of six furlongs run in 1-19 2-ssccs. Mt. Victoria ran half-a-mile in 51 4-osecs. Troon did a mile in 1-46 4-ssecs. Stevedore boat Snapdragon over half-a-mile in 52., Briar Patch beat Silver Shield over seven furlongs, the last six being cut out in 1-21 2-ssecs. Amber and White easily beat Liston over six furlongs cut out in 1-19 4-ssecs. Player showed more advantage than Ngatamaru in schooling over five hurdles, but the latter gave his best display to date. Black Lupin beat Tetikura over half-a-mile run in 51 2-ssecs. Iliad’s Hero beat Kaniki over six furlongs in 1-18. Morning cut out six furlongs from a standing start in 1-20 4-ssecs. Diavolo and Qhatmos gave a creditable display over four hurdles. Hereford made a good showing over five flights. Kilmony, Manitau and Cheddar jumped three flights, giving a good exhibition, except that Cheddar was not altogether satisfactory over the last jump. Clynelish did the fastest gallop of the morning, doing half-a-mile in 49 2-ssecs. Glenmore and Kauroa fenced correctly once round the country. Exotic fenced safely once round, but his effort was not impressive. Royal Arms beat Crown Pearl over six furlongs run in 1-18 l-ssecs. Silver Monarch and Jackman gave, a pleasing display once round the fences. The Chief, who started with them, was outpaced, and his effort not impressive. Royal Medal gave a careful display over the fences. Leonta. jumped four hurdles in a safe exhibition, but jumped very high.
