ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
£Paa PftSfla Association.] , Greymouth, August 2. A sad fatality occurred at Patara on Saturday whereby a little girl. aged about nine years lost her life. Her father, Adam Blair, junr, } of Stratford Blair's sawmill, was hauling logs to the mill by means of a locomotive and trucks. The child was amusing herself by putting crossed nails on the line to be flattened by the passing truck,;. She evidently thought the hist truck had passed, stooped to pick up nai)s, and was struck by the following truck which passed -over her, killing Uev instantly I in front of her mother, who came out of the house at the momeirfr.
