Mr John o,’Donovan, a very wellknown settlor in the eastern districts, met In’s death at 4 o’clock on Friday afternoon. He \vas thrown from his horse on the Tahora saddle and fractured Ids spine. He was brought on to Whaugamomona by the Public Works train, the intention being to bring him to Stratford by Saturday’s early morning train, hut ho died in the meantime.
