Simons and others 52 head-of dairy ';ows, of which we sold 49 head. There was a large attendance and numerous bityers were operating'. Any thing diowing quality and condition ' were keenly competed for, but late calvers Tore neglected. Mr Zurcher's cows were sold at fi'orii £5 to £lO, the aver'Sg'e' for the in calf cows being £7 ; SiOrse passed in at £3O. Cows on account of A. Simons made from £5 to £B, average being £6 4s 6d ; other cows realised from £6 5s to £8 12s 6d. On Tuesday we also held our usijal monthly sale of wool, sheep skitjs, hides and tallow. Our catalogue comprised 15 bales and 47 bags wool (mostly crtitchings), and the usual quantity of sheepskins, hides, etc. The following prices Avere realised: —Wool {bales) crossbred fleece, part lambs, seedy arid matted 6Jd to B|d, crossbred crutqliirigs (seedy) 4Jd, crossbred crutchings (clean) ssd to 7£d, wool (bags) crutihiiigs, clean 7d, crossbred fleece 6£d to 7d,crossbred lambs B}d, sheepskins, crossbred damaged Is 4d, 2s 3d to 2i 7d, crossbred 3-woolled 8s 9d' to 6s, crossbred full woolled 6s 8d to 7s, crossbred hoggets 4s 2d, tallow (in tins) 20s to 20s 3d per cwt, cowhides (fleshy) 22s 3d, cowhides (light). ljSs to 23s 6d, cut 18» 6d, ox hide (fleshy) 25s 9d, yearling hides (good) 14s 4,d, lleshy 7s sd, cut Bs, calfskins 2s Id lo is 4d. Our next sale will be held on 25th August, 1914. On Wednesday, 29th inst., we hold <i clearing sale on behalf of Mr Michael Foley, Ahuroa Road, Toko, when there was a fair attendance of buyers, 13 operating. The cows were in good condition and were a fair line. Competition was good. The following prices were made for sound and early calving cows:—£6 10s.to £l6, the average for the 17 cows being £lO 3s, late calvers £5 to £5 10s, 19 months dairy heifers were sold in, lines at £3 l'2s 6d to £4, 10s. Horses were geod and made as follows:—"Glen," 1J36 15s, "l}ob." (gelling) 7 years £26 10s, covers. 10s to 13s, Jersey bull "Kingswood" £8 10s, "Sir Pontiac Evertje de Kol" 35 guineas.

New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the. following cablegram from their London house under date 29th 'July, 1914:—Wheat,—We have sold lan Australian cargo at 36s 6d c.i.f. The market is firm but inactive. Owing to the political situation on the. Continent, tha autlook is uncertain. Tallow.—Tjiere. is little general demand.
