The Times, in a leader on the London markets, say* that when allowance is made tor conditions unexampled within living memory, under which business has been conducted during the last, week, it has no hesitation in saying that the stuck market is sound and healthy. WEBSTER, DOBSON AND CO’S STOCK REPORT. On Wednesday, ‘22nd inst., we held a clearing sale at Waipuku on account Air E. J. Bennett. There was a good attendance, and keen competition. The cows being in good condition and fairly early calvers readily sold at following prices :—Cows close to prolit £lO to do los, August calvers £0 to £l4 10s, late calvers £5 to £8 10s, cows in milk £5 12s (id to £6 17s 6d, empty do £3 15s to £4 7s (id, gig £ls 2s, disc harrows £4 19, 5, pony £5 12s 6d, sndries at usual rates. On Friday, 24th inst., we held, in conjunction with Newton King, a clearing sale on account Air T. Kidd, Waipuku. - There was a good attendance, and brisk competition throughout. The cows were in the pink of condition, and chiefly early calvers, 'and were keenly competed for and sold at good values. Prices as follows:—Cows close to profit £l2 to £ls, August calvers £lO K's to £l3. September calvers £7 Ids to £lO, late do £5 10s to £B, empty and old cows £3 to £4 17s (id, yearling bull 20s, Jersey bulls £!), £4 los, pedigree Jersey bull £!) 10s, weaner heifers 335, small in calf heifers £3 to £3 11s, gelding £l2, sundries realised usual prices. At Strathmore on Monday last we held our usual monthly sale, there being only a moderate entry and fair attendance, practically everything being cleared at following rates Weaner heifers 345, cows £4 6s 6d to £4 16s, ewes in lamb 18s-, buggy and harness £7. At Stratford, on Tuesday, there was a small muster and ‘fair attendance and competition. Prices as follows Weaner heifers 39s 6d to £2 Is, empty heifers £3 Bs, Jersey weaner heifers £3 Is to £3 6s, fat cow £5 los, in calf heifers £4 7s 6d ’to £6 los, fresh cows £3 19s 6d to £4 7s 6d, store cows £2 to £3 7s 6d. Private sals; We report good business during last fortnight, a large quantity of both cattle and sheep changing hands. We quote sales as under:—Fat wethers 26s 3d to 255, hoggets 17s 'to los, ewes in lamb 25s •6d to 20s, yearling' steers £2 10s to £2 17s 6d, yearling heifer,s £2 2s for hue of a hot 200, 40s, 37s 6d, 395, store.- owes 10s (id to 12s (id, fresh conditioned cows £5 to £'4 iU.s, store cows £4 6s to £3 9s, fat cows £7 10s to £7 13s. dairy cows £9 to £l2 10s, in calf heifprs £6 to £7 2s (id, smaller do £6 to £5 16s.
