CARNIVAL QUEEN CONTEST
Violets should be very popular on Saturday, the Green and Gold Committee (Miss Hart’s candidature) holding a violet day. A meeting of Miss Hart ladies’ committee (Green and Gold) will be held in Halliwell and Thompson’s office tomorrow, at 3 p.m. A concert and dance in support of the Country Gir l(Miss McCullough) will be held in Mr Harry Johnson’s barn, Kahouri Bridge, on'Wednesday evening next. A well attended meeting of the lady supoprters of Mrs G. Smith (Royal Blue and White) was held on Tuesday afternoon. Strong working committees were set up to work in conjunction with the men’s committees, and' the enthusiasm displayed augurs well for successful results. A contingent of the Stratford Band will accompany the concert party to Tariki this evening. In connection with the jumble sale to help Miss Hart’s candidature, the committee are arranging a Baby Show. The date and all arrangements will be made at the next meeting of the committee.
