Papuans at Home.
'CLOTHING FOR A VILLAGE. "A BALL OF TWINE!" [Uy Eliotbio Tiligbaph—Coptbiqhi [United Press Association.] (Received 10.55 a.m.) Sydney, July 24. The Bishop of NeAv Guinea, who is visiting Sydney, speaks most hopefully of the steady spread of Christianity amongst the natives. The' Bishop will ordain two Papuans next month, which will be the beginning of a. Native Ministry. The policy of the missionaries is to interfere as little as possible with Native customs. It was found that when the natives took to wearing trousers or skirts they not only declined in health but also in morality. The Bishop added that in many places in Papua a ball of twine would clothe the whole village.
