At, Wellington to-day, the Farmers’ I'nion Conference discussed an Auckland remit advocating the appointment of a committee to consider and draft a scheme of government by elective executive for .New Zealand in order that the Farmers’ I nion may enter on an active campaign to bring the principle clearly before the electors. The motion was rejected in favor of ;in amendment expressing the opinion that an elective executive is preferable to th« o ■"T system which at ores; nt exist.-;.- i'.A.
