THE BOORABIL CHARGES.

Parliament has passed an amending Bill widening the powers ol the Judge who is inquiring into the Uoorabil land charges to the full power ol a Supreme Court Judge.
ORDER OF REFERENCE.
The order of reference to Mr Justice Priug, who was appointed to inquire into the whole of the facts connected with the Boorail leasehold resumption transaction, was as follows. —
(IX The matter of the purchase h.v the Government of the Boorabd estate and the adjoining improvement leases, being the lands described in the schedule to the agreement dated 27th day of October, 1913, and made between James Mansfield Xiall, Richard Gar.iiner Casey, and Alexander Eric M'Leod, of the first part, his Excellency the Governor of the second part, and the Honorable John Louis Trefle, Secretary for Lands, of the third'part. (2) The administration of the Department of Lands in connection \ rth the said purchase.
(3) In connection with the aforesa.d matters, to inquire whether, on the part of pnyone, there lias been any interference or attempt at interference with the purity of Parliament or departmental fiction. (4) And, in so far as he may deem / it essential, to inquire generally into tiie said matters, having regard to any public interest involved, and the conduct of any official or person connected therewith.
