At Wellington to-day (states tho Press Association), James 'O'Donoghue, a youth witix a bad record, who terrorised his aged mother and stole articles from the house and pawned t;:?m to buy drink, was sentenced to tiu'ee years' reformative treatment by Mv Cooper, S.M., who called accused "a. wretched waster and a despicable blackguard."
An inquest held at Dunedin this morning on James Dunnett who died from burns; on Saturday. IJis o.va statement was that the tent was burned down, but this was not so. It is supposed he had a seizure and f.ll into the fire. The evidence showed that death resulted from burns, but there was no evidence to show how the accident occurred: —P.A.
