In connection with the naval scandal, Iwahara, managing director of the Mitsui Businn Yaisha Company, and Admiral Matsus were sentenced to two years’ imprisonment. Gamamoti, an official of the Mitsui Company, was sentenced to eighteen months, and four directors to sentences ranging from three to eighteen months. The directors sentenced were suspended for three years.
