A reminder is given of the social to bo held in the Waingongoro school this evening. There should be a big attendance at the Salvation Army Hall this evening On the occasion of the public meeting which is to be conducted by Brigadier Vince, assisted by Adjutant Gray.and Taranaki officers. At the conclusion of the Postal k Conference at Madrid, Mr W. R. Morris (Secretary of tho New Zealand Post and Telegraph Department) will visit Hungary to inspect the motor service in use there, with the idea of deciding whether it would be most suitable and economical than the present Dominion service of motor # cycles and side-cars. When he is passing hrough America he will continue the negotiations commenced by the Hon. James Allen, on his return trip from London last year, regarding the conveyance of parcels by mail. A successful issue to these negotiations will, it is anticipated, lead to a considerable saving J;o the Dominion.
