In the Semphill divorce case, petitioner gave evidence that they lived for two years in furnished houses in Australia, and afterwards in Portsmouth, and Malta. In April, she received a letter from respondent, who said he did not intend living with her, and also enclosing certain information which confirmed her worst fears. A hotelkeeper deposed xo Semphill and a woman staying at nis place for four days.
