Charges against Horace Crammond, of embezzling sums amounting to £1435, belonging to Th'os. Cook and Son, Wellington, are proceeding at the .Magistrate's Court, states the Press Association. It is allgeed Crammond received the monies in the course' of the firm's business, but did not account for them in the usual manner, it is also alleged lie drew cheques in the firm's name and cashed them, the butts of the cheque forms not being filled in. A Wellington P.A. telegram this afternoon says: Albert Eiddie, aged si, son of Mr John Liddie, the well-known theatrical manager a quarter of a century ago, and brother-in-law to tbo Hon. W. Pitt, Sydney, committed suicide. He was found in his office this morning with a bullet wound through his head and a revolver tied to his hand. He was last seen ou Monday night, when be appeared in good health and spirits. He acted as super-intending-architect of the new Grand Opera House. , .
