Sir Herbert Samuel, M.P. lor Lambeth, presided when Prince Arthur of Connauglit unveiled Brock's statue of Captain Cook on The Mall. Prince Louis of Battenberg, Mr Churchill, Sir George Reid, and Mr Thomas Mackenzie were present. "NEW ZEALAND'S EVERLASTING MEMORIAL." AUSTRALIA'S DEBT TO COOK. (Received 10.25 a.m.) London. July 7. Rushall's Cadets wore present at the unveiling of Cook's statue and also the Agents-General and a number of prominent Colonials. Mr Mackenzie said New Zealand's loftiest peak was' an everlasting memorial to Cook's work. New Zealand's external trade was now equal to the total import and export trade of Britain, Germany, and France at the time of Cook's visit. Sir George Reid eulogised Australia's debt to, Captain Cook.
