ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
[PItE PRESS ASSOGIATIONJ Pahiatua, July 3. H. W. Williams, an elderly widower, who followed the occupation of bookkeeper, suddenly collapsed while partaking of his dinner at the Irocadero to-day,, and expired in a few minutes. Christchurch, July 3. A lad wliilst engaged in shepherding on the hilltops above Eapaki Pah, near Lyttelton, this afternoon, discovered the body of a man suspended by about four feet of rope from the root of a tree overhanging a disused quarry. The man appeared to be about middle-aged, and was dressed in a brown suit. He tied the rope to the tree, and jumped over. The body has Hot yet been identified. Taihape, luly 3. A man name Win. Mitchell, -33 years old, a married resident of TaorOa, committed suicide with a razor early this morning. At the ’inquest a verdict of suicide whilst temporarily insane way returned, no reason being assigned.
