THE WHANGA, SOCIAL.
On the day of the opening of the railway line to Whangamomona those who were able to be present were entertained at a grand social in the evening in the Whangamomona Town Hall. There was a crowded audience, and dancing was freely indulged in, Messrs Bottomley and Sehnider providing the music. Among others who took part in the musical portion were Mesdames Hill and Mills, and Messrs J). Wildermoth and Bottomley, whose services ; wore highly appreciated. Mr T. A. I Bradley, as chairman of the committee, apologised for the absence of the j Minister, the Hon. W. H. Hemes and Mr J. B. Hine, M.P., and referred to the pleasure it gave him to be present as chairman over such a gathering. Mr McCutchan also spoke appropriately to the occasion. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable time was spent, and it was not until two 1 o'clock in the morning that dancing concluded. From all aecovrnta many ' will r»B*rd the day as a y»ry happy
