'The Royal mail steamer Niagara arrived this afternoon from Sydney direct, and dropped anchor in the streapt just a few minutes before half, past two. The vessel made what is easily a record passage from Sydney, the voyage having occupied just half an hour over three days. r l liis time is exceedingly good, being two hours better than the Niagara’s previous record of three days and two and ahalf hours. The fastest passage by .•mother was made by the Sonoma, which covered the distance in three davs and four hours.
