Hamiaflf Flint Ifftad, who has sold his farm. - There was a good attendance, but bidding was not up to expectations Owing to the cows being in low condition, also to the fact that unfortunate rumors had been circulated regarding the drafting out of the host cows. However, anything good and reliable made good prices, a’nd sundries sold very well. Milk cans 12s, double furrow plough £7, Duncan single furrow plough 36 s. planet jr. drill 37s (id, hand cliaffcutter 30s, courtlaiid £ll, tip dray £8 10s, clipper 20s, chain liarrows 735, horses passed, Wardrobe 100 s, sofa 80s, bedstead 40s. Cows realised 2035, 185 s, 180 s, 170 s, 160 s, 1555, 150 s, 1435, 130 s, 1235, 120 s, 115 s, store and empty cows 80s, woaners 335, heifers In calf on account of another client made up to 130 s. On Monday last, 29th June, we held a successful clearing sale on behalf of Mr W. H. Bennett, who lias sold ins place on the Opunake Road near Cardiff. The day was showery hut there was a fair attendance of the public and bidding was brisk for young cows, though aged cows were nob in demand. The stock was in very fair condition, and although a good many cows showed approaching age, the herd averaged £8 17 s. Prices were as follows :—£ lb 17s Gd, £l2 10s, £l2. £ll 10s, £ll, £lO 13s, £lO 3s, £lO. £9 !os, £9 3s, £9, £8 10s, £8 3s, £7 10s, 3-teaters £9, £6 5s and £6, cows in milk £3 5s to £0 10s, horses, young, 160 s to 2205. There were very few sundries for sale. Single furrow: plough 115 s, cans 9s, 12s, and 17s. On Tuesday, 30th July, we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a fair yarding ot stoi c and dairy stock, the total yarding consisting of 4,84 head cattle, and 430 sheep. We cleared most lines at the following prices:-—Weaiier heifers 28s, 335, 395, 41s, 12s, wearier steers IDs, 425, 435, 465, 30s. No real good lines in these classes were yarded. Empty heifers 615,. 665, 70s, store cows 365, 62s fid, 68.4, 68s 6d, 765. 88s to 03s. fat cows 116 s to 130 s, in calf heifers, not so good, 38s Od for sound to 71s, 98-;,' 102 s to 110 s for well grown linos showing-quality. ’ On Tuesday, 30th June, we also offered at the Stratford dairy yards the imported pedigree hut owing to importers not heing' present and to the high reserves we wqre unable to dispose of tiro stock with the exception of. On account of Mr L, Bent, dairy cows realised £6, £6 ss, £6 10s, £7, £7 10s, £7 15s, £8 10s, £9. On account of other clients, dairy coavs made up to £lO us. On Tuesday, 30th June, we also held our usual monthly sale of wool, sheepskins, hides, etc., Avhen avo offered a small catalogue to a fair attendance of buyers. Prices were as follows Crossbred fleece, heavy and matted, BRI to 8.U1; lambs Avool(iu sacks) 8RI; dead avool, mixed and pieces, 4;Jd to od. Sheepskins—Medium Avoolled 3s Gd to 7s 4d, fair Avoolled Is 7d to 3s, dead and damaged Is lid to 4s 7d; lambs 2s 3d to 2s 9d; salted sheepskins Is 6(1 to Is; pelts lld to Is Id. Tallow—fin tins) 22s 3d per ewt. Hair—ls 4d per lb. Hides,—Cowhides 19s, 22s Id, 25s 7(1, 27s Bd, 31s 6d, 355, yearling hides Bs, 11s Id, 14s 2d, 16s, calfskins 2s Id. Is 3d to 5s 7d.

On Wednesday, Ist July, we held a clearing sale on account, of Mr A. JStnekley, who has sold one of Ids properties, in Mr A. G. Stewart’s yards at Kiore. The special train to Whangamomona suited this fixture admirable. There was a very large attendance of the public from all parts of the district, about 120 being present. Competition was good, and all lines were cleared at satisfactory prices ('nil lambs 10s, good 15s to 16s, cuff ewes 10s 6d. 2, 4-tootk to f.m. ewes 25s 3d, rams 5s to 19s, Wethers up to 21s. 21-year heifers in calf 105 s, 115 s to 131s* 2-year heifers in calf G7s, G7 S 6d, 75s 6d to 70s; empty heifers, 20-month and over 65s Gd; 60s to 765; dairy cows up to £10; store cows, /5s Gd, 765, 80s, 88s, to 935;. 20-month steers, 48s to 70s; Jersey hull, 01s, in calf heifers, on, account of another client, 98 s to 100 s; empty heifers, 69s '(id to 745; weaners, mixed, 38s 6d. On Thursday, 2nd inst., we held a clearing sale on account of Mr m. Moore, Beaconsfield Road, when there was a very large attendance of the public from all parts of the district. There was a large collection of sundries, which sold at remarkably good prices. The herd of cows were in good condition, hut a large number of them showed advancing age. Anything young, however, and shoAving quiility, made good money.
