BERNARD’S PICTURES. A large ami enthusiastic audience witnessed the new change of pictures at Bernard’s Theatre last night. The star feature drama is the Lest Vitagraph story ever told on the picture screen. The comic element is represented by the Keystone screamer, “Mabel’s Love Affairs.” To-morrow evening Yitngraph Co. will present the Incest released drama featuring the famous “Maurice Costello.” 'Vincent Strong, who is acknowledged to be the greatest living ship-designer, takes Carl (his brother’s son) into his office, and before long, Strong realises that Carl is destined to be as great a craftsman as himself, if not greater. He becomes uncontrollably jealous, the more so when he realises that Jaince Barnes, the daughter of the president of the S.S. Company, and with whom he is in love, prefers Carl to himself. Carl sees Strong’s design for a new ship, and notices that it contains 'a serious flaw. He shows how the mistake may be covered. Strong tells him that he is an impudent upstart. Carl tells them that the ship will never reach port. When three days out, a terrific temor is felt by those on the vessel, and sho founders, taking the panic-stricken passengers down with her, including Vincent Strong. At that very moment Carl is signing a contract to become head ship-dcsigncri for the company, and ho obtains consent to marry Janice.
