PERSONAL.
Messrs W. Black (Awakino), C. Leech (Awakino), J. L. 'Sproull (Ohura), and H. Street (Ohura), are among the new appointments of Justices of the Peace. •Mr and Mrs Newton King, ,Miss B. King and Messrs W. and E. King left by the Rarawa last night en route to England. Their trip, which will last about four months, will be via Canada and the United States of America, the party sailing in the Niagara. Mr Justice Hosking, with his associate Mr Hunter Denniston, Mr C. P. Skerrett and Mr H. H. Ostler arrived in Stratford last might, by the mail train and proceeded this morning to New Plymouth, wheje a Compensation Court is to sit to hear the case New Plymouth Borough Council v. the Public Works Department, a claim, for stone taken from the Skinner Road gravel pit. Mr Ostler appeals for the Department and Mr Skerrett for the Borough Council.
