Robertou (in the chair),-W. ®ficonf A. Cpyne, and N. R. Cleland. , Messrs Ptoflilt and 'Smith waited on thp Council to ascertain 1 if it would he to include' the present Wbaugambmxma! Road loan (£600) area in a proposed new loan area for a further mile of metal. Tenders are to ho called for a further 56 chains o fformation of Kohi Road to the inaccessible gorge. The Engineer ' wife authorised to get a truck of metal to repair the Ohura Road near Te Wera railway Station. v k . V',
A deputation consisting •of Messrs Court, AyUvard, Reader and Hodge waited «n the Council With reference to the' mfitter of' facilitating the vesting of a cottage hospital site in the Stratford Hospital}!'Board. It was decided that (j)r 'Md'Gutchan represent the Council on a deputation (jointly w ith a membqr of the Medical Association) to the Hospital Board re the early erection o a cottage hospital at Wh angditiomoml. It was decided to accept the Railway Department's offer to erect warning hoards re level crossings' tlie Engineer to indicate where the boards are to he erected. The clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps to close Vera Road. Application is to be made for pound for pound subsidy up to £IOOO on account of Wbangamomona Road loan, for grants of £SOO on Rimuputa Road and £2OO on Mariga'rew'n Road, and for £SOO against loan already expended on Brewer Road (Strathmore* to Mnrcott Road). Special rates were struck as follows Central Riding (Ohura Road £2500), 1 ijd ; Central Riding (bridge rate), Jd. Special orders were adopted authorising the raising of loans of £1,400 for Mangarewa- Road, and £4OO for Wbangamomona township. Accounts amounting to £793 9s 5d were passed for payment.
