The Board held its usual monthly meeting on . Wednesday. Present:— Messrs G. H. Bullard (Commissioner of Crown Lands), A. Coxhead, and C. J. Ryan. LAND APPLIED FOR.
Section 5, block VII. , Omoua, 760 acres, 0.r.p., A. F. and G. D. Needham. Sole applicants.—Granted. Section 6, block XIV., Mahoe, 980 acres, 0.r.p., G. C. Callaghan and N. F. lavender. Sole applicants.—Approved. Section 6, block V., Huiroa, Tariki Settlement.—To be submitted to ballot.

M. L. Gaustad applied to transfer section 5, block XII., Upper Waitara. 476 acres, to C. A. Lawson for £3OO. —Refused.
Mrs A. E. James applied on the 20tli November last to trausfer section 27, block XV., Ngatimaru, 199 acres 3 roods 26 perches, to Mrs C. M. Snow at a consideration of £220. Mr Snow held land at Ohakune, Mrs Snow said she did not reside. He also sold out of 200 acres at Ohakune. Mrs Snow said she did not intend to reside on section 27, but would instal a manager. It was considered a case of trafficking in land and the transfer was not recommended. But Mr James attended the Board and the application was subsequently approved. Mrs Snow having acquired the section for £2200 (the transfer wa,s registered in March last) now applies to transfer to S. Bellamy for £2575, on the plea that she cannot work the place from a distance.—This application appeared to justify the previous opinion regarding speculation, and the transfer was therefore refused. H. A. Wood's application to sublet section : 94, block X., Ngaire, to R. Greatorex, deferred from last meeting for production of a copy of sublease of land held by Mr Greatorex, was approved. H. Ivaspar applied to sublet section 21, block IT., Ohura, 259 acres, to O. H. Currie for 5 years, with option of purchase.—Refused. 1 St H. and S. A. Jenkins applied to. subdivide and transfer part of section block XV., Ngaire, to L. C. Hitchcock.—Deferred for ranger's report on subdivision, E. J. Bannett appiled to transfer sub-lease of section 1, block XIII., Huiroa, 140 acres, to W. D. Taylor.— Approved. F. H. Barnitt applied to transfer sub-lease of section 2, block 11., Omoua, -202 acres I rood 23 perches, to Alex. Innes.—Approved conditionally.
W. H. Wallace applied to sublet sections 41, 36, 2,3, and sub. lof 32, block VI., Ngatimaru, to J. H. Hobbs. —Granted, provided documents are in order. ' MISCELLANEOUS. Nathan Early having declined to proceed with application for land in block VIII., Tangitu, it was decided to offer it for selection under optional conditions. In connection with an application by Anglican Church for section 14', block IV., Matiere township, it was decided to sell the section to the applicants at a price to be fixed. The proposal to grant H. Baverstock land adjoining his present holding in block. IV., Mimi, was referred again to the Board for consideration of the proposed altera.tsan of boundaries to include an area .-' 'tt« rtcres. Amended boundaries approve::. It was decided to o.Ter nn 7 er section 135 of the Land Act section 10, block V... Ohura, 612 acres, an ungazetted forest reserve intended for growth and preservation of timber. The ranger reported that although very steep country the soil was good, and it was capable of carrying 1000 sheep. W. A. Davis, selector of sections 22 and 23, block IX., Mimi, 736 a OrV lOp. had to leaso on account of ill-healths Tho case was considered at last meeting and it \ was resolved to accept his explanation as to non-residence, provided ho was resident again within a month. He now stated ho could not fulfil" the conditions in a month, on account of family affairs and his own health ; that he had an offer for grazing by a man who would reside, and ho applied for permission to sublet for six months.—Approved.
