CONTROL OF THE MEDITERRANEAN. [Br Eleoteio Telegraph—Coptbightl [Umtsd Pbess Association.* (Received 8.25 a.m.) Paris, June 26. The Senate had a discussion on the uaval estimates. The naval committee reported that the principal object of France's policy was to assure at all costs control of the Mediterranean for herself and her Allies. It was necessary to prevent Germany being able to revictual the Italian and Austrian forts. At present the French fleet was equal to the united Austro-Italian fleets. It was necessary to raise the battle fleet from 28 to 33 to gain the superiority.
