Hitch, in the second innings, bowled five wickets for 51. „ TENNIS. At Wimbledon Larsen beat Harding 6 7—5, 6—3.' Brookes beat Ritchie 6—l, 6—o, 6—l. Parke beat. Lowe 6—l, 6—3, 6—l. Both generally favored the baseline. Parke scored many points by unexpectedly adopting volleying tactics at the net. Several dazzling cross-volleys were maintained on the run. ~ Dunlop defeated Heyden B—6, o—6, 7 5, 6—l. JOoust and Miss Marion defeated Dunlop and Miss Aitchison 6—4, 6—3. Yencken Bros, defeated Simond and Goldesborough 6—4, 6—3, 6—3. Despite the score in the Brookes-Ritchie match, each set was hard fought. Brookes, never failing in skimming volleys, triumphed over Ritchie’s baseline driving. There was many an exciting volley in the second set, but Brookes showed extraordinary anticipation at the net.
