At a meeting of the Anglican Synod to-day, the following resolution was carried unanimously:—“This Synod, representing 140 Church of England congregations in Otago and Southland, urges the Government to afford the people of an opportunity of deciding by referendum at the next general election whether Bible and religious teaching shall or shall not he introduced into the public schools.”
