HENDON TO MANCHESTER. I Ik? EIBOTBIO TIiLKGBArn— UOPTKIGHTj [United Peesb Abdooiation.T 1 Loudon, Juno 21. Brock won the aerial race from Hendon to Manchester and hack. Hawker, the favorite, returned ill from Coventry. COLLISION IN MID-AIR. Vienna, June 20. A Koerting dirigible ascended to take an aero-photograph. A captain, three lieutenants, two mechanics, and a civil engineer were aboard. Later, two lieutenants in a biplane encircled the balloon several times and attempted to fly over it. Accidentally the biplane grazed and rent the envelope, which, with a violent explosion, burst into flames and fell 1300 ft. The occupants’ charred corpses, and the lieutenants in the biplane were found terribly mutilated. CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT. (Received 9.0 a.m.) London, Juno 21. The aeroplane and dirigible were carrying out manoeuvres. The former was attacking a supposed dirigible, and eddies sucked the aeroplane down on to the balloon.
