Evidence taken before the Meat Commission showed that the American Trust was operating in England. Many of the exoprters fear that the ultimate issue of the American company’s movements here will be for the benefit of pastoralists for a time, because prices will rise and the only way they can get a permanent hold will be to pay more than the exporters can afford, having large capital behind them.
