GREECE AND TURKEY. SERVIA’S WARNING. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright [United Press AsaoniAwoN.] (Received 8.0 a.m.) Constantinople, June 19. Servia’s warning to Turkey that she is unable to remain on friendly terms in the event of a Graeco-Turk-ish conflict has calmed Turkey, who appears to desire to avoid a rupture.
Germany has agreed that nominees of the embassies at Constantinople should investigate the position of the Greeks.
A LONG CHARGE SHEET.
IMPRISONED FOR ROBBERY. (Received 9.0 a.m.) Constantinople, Juno 19. A court martial at Smyrna sentenced forty-seven individuals to terms of imprisonment ranging from three to five years for robbing Greek emigrants. PORTE’S EVASIVE REPLY. FURTHER TURKISH OUTRAGES. Constantinople, June 19. The Porte’s reply to the Greek note is conciliatory, and expresses readiness to examine the grievances and counter charge of persecutions by Greeks in Macedonia. It evades the demand for the re-instatement of the \Grceks and the restoration of property. The Turkish reserves at Symrna were called out. The lighthouses in the Gulf were extinguished. Turkish refugees sacked the Greeks’ shops in Brussa, and there were sanguinary encounters.
