Big Dock Fire.

Three hundred and sixty yards or quays on the south side and sixty yards of wharfage on the east side t>i Kingston Dock, Glasgow, collapsed as a result of a fire raging throughout the day, which originated accidentally. Two hundred barrels of seal oil were precipitated into the dock and were destroyed. Four schooners and a steam yacht were burnt. Three sailors are missing. A number of houses were ignited but were extinguished. The damage is variously estimated at £150,000 to £250,000. The fire is now under control.
